Biggs Jasper cab ~
Here we have a deluxe cabochon of Biggs jasper, from Oregon. I found the rough for this cab at one of the Quartzite gemshows, and couldn't wait to get home and cab some! (Collectibly rare; so GLAD I got there early!) It said 'opalized' in aged felt pen on the side, and this cab does appear to be somewhat creamier in color and texture. The stone has character to spare, and there's even a streak of pale lavender present. And how 'bout those gorgeously well-defined dendrites? The pattern is weirdly scenic, and I think you'll have a ton of fun creating a setting to best show it off. It has a well-rounded dome, a gracefully symmetrical 'chevron' shape that enhances the jasper's pattern to the fullest, and a super slick mirror polish both front and back.
